Carlisle Castle (1868)
A whole plate negative. A slightlty distant starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the 3 masted ship rigged vessel Carlisle Castle (1868) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has painted ports and is rigged with double topsails, double topgallants on fore and main, single topgallant on the mizzen and single royals. Her royal masts are fidded and she is flying the blue peter. She has whisker booms fitted to the base of her bowsprit. The Tilbury ferry Thames (1868) is in the left background.
