The thick and wavy texture of the dog’s shorthair coat is depicted through the use of short, overlapping curved brushstrokes. Additional short, rounded brushstrokes appear to the right side of the dog, giving the impression of movement. Specific details, including the dog’s right eye and pink nose, are included in the drawing. A small, light brown watermark is visible close to the bottom edge of the work.
