A 12x10 negative. A slightly distant starboard near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the 3 masted ship rigged general cargo sailing vessel City of Benares (1882) at anchor in Northfleet Hope, River Thames. She is down to her marks, has painted ports and is rigged with double topsails, single topgallants and royals. Tilbury Docks are in the background. Hughes 2369 is scratched on the emulsion side.
