A starboard side view, just forward of the beam, of the four-masted barque Crompton (1890) under full sail at sea. The photographer was on another vessel a short distance away from the ship.

This is a glass copy negative of a photographic print in an oval mount. The image is very slightly unsharp.

The Crompton was wrecked in 1910 on voyage from Tacomo to Limrick at Puffin Island, Portmagee, on the southwest coast of Ireland.
