Loch Ard (1873)
A whole plate negative. A slightly distant port broadside view of the 3 masted ship rigged vessel Loch Ard (1873) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is well laden and is rigged with double topsails on all masts, double topgallants on fore and main, single topgallant on the mizzen and no royals. She has painted ports. Tilbury is in the background. This negative was made on the day she sailed for Australia but she was wrecked at Curdies Inlet near Cape Otway, Victoria on 1 June 1878.
