Northern Light (1873)

A whole plate negative. A copy of an unsigned drawing, probably pencil and charcoal, depicting a port near broadside view from just ahead of the beam of the American 3 masted ship rigged clipper Northern Light (1873) under full sail at sea. She is shown with some studding sails and most staysails set but her mizzen course is furled. An inscription on
the negative says "Homeward bound from Rangoon India (sic), April 29 79, Lat. l7.54S. Long. 57.55E".
