A whole plate negative. A port broadside view of the 3 masted barque rigged vessel Northumberland (1871) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is rigged with double topsails, single topgallants and royals. She is loaded down to her marks.. Tilbury is in the background. The Northumberland (1871) sailed from Gravesend 6 August 1882 on her first voyage for Shaw, Savill & Albion Co Ltd and arrived at Melbourne 11 November 1882.
