See also MS map G231:9/3 for General David Dundas's original plan of the capture of the Tower and San Fiorenzo Bay. This print was published in Clarke and McArthur's 'Life of Nelson' (1809) volume 1, since the 'MacArthur' of the inscription is the same man, Lord Hood's secretary in 'Victory' during the invasion of Corsica. It is not clear whether that was reuse of an earlier plate, since the tower caused sufficient problems to have justified publication closer to the time. Clarke and McArthur however give a good account of the reduction of the tower, so 1809 may be the first publication. [PvdM 5/05]
