Sydenham (1870)

A whole plate negative. A very poor quality slightly distant port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the 3 masted barque rigged vessel Sydenham (1870) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is rigged with double topsails, single topgallants and single royals. Tilbury is in the background. The emulsion of the negative has lifted and the negative is now unprintable. A 12x10 photographic print made in the 1950s is available for scanning but the image shows the emulsion to be badly deteriorated. Negatives numbers G1300 and G1771 were taken on the same occasion.
