Torrisdale (1892)
A 12x10 negative. A close-up view of the port bow of the 4 masted general cargo barque Torrisdale (1892) while in a dry dock at Tilbury. She has bad collision damage just abaft the hawse which reaches from the top of the bulwark down to about two feet below the waterline. The angle of the incision shows that she was hit obliquely from just abaft the beam. Her port anchor is missing. The damaged plating has been numbered and the position of the forward bulkhead has been indicated. The details of the collision are not known. Negative number G853 was taken on the same occasion.
