True Briton (1861)

A half plate negative. A copy of an unsigned and undated painting showing the starboard side of a three masted ship rigged vessel said to be the True Briton (1861). The ship is rigged with double topsails on the fore and main, single topsail on the mizzen, single topgallants and single royals and has 13 painted ports. She is flying the blue peter and a houseflag and is being towed by the Watkins 3 funnelled paddle tug Anglia (1866). Tilbury Fort Watergate is in the background. Negatives numbers G1485, G1486 and G1487 are all copies of the same painting.
