This building is known as the Sarria Church, named as such after a Knight of St. John who built the church previously on its ground. The Sarria Church is the only church entirely designed by the Calabrese Mattia Preti, after the island was ravaged by the plague in 1676. The church is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, and includes a cycle of paintings by Mattia Preti.
