Marguerite (1901)
A 12x10 negative. A starboard broadside view of the spritsail rigged staysail barge Marguerite (1901) under sail in the Medway Estuary during the outward leg of the Working Class section of the Medway Barge Match. She is in light winds and calm waters and her lee board is down. Note the forward spring to the topmast and her staysail sheets are leading right aft. There were 18 starters in this class and although she was fifth over the finish line she was disqualified for obstructing the Marjorie (1899) while off Sheerness on the outward leg.
