Shamrock (1899)
A 12x10 negative. A slightly distant starboard quarter view, taken from wide off the stern, of the spritsail rigged general cargo topsail barge Shamrock (1899) under sail during a Thames or Medway Barge Match, probably the 1900 Thames match. Her crew are in whites and she has flag number 1 on her forestay. Four other barges are in line ahead of her; the second in line is thought to be the Centaur (1898) and the third in line may be the Loualf (1898). A Gamecock Towing Co tug is towing a square rigger in the left background.
