Thames Barge Match 1903
A 12x10 negative. A distant port bow view of spritsail barges under sail in the Thames estuary during the Thames Barge Match. They are all on the starboard tack in a strong north-north-east wind and are heading upriver, having rounded the Mouse Light Vessel which can be seen in the distance. The barges, from left to right, are the Sara (1902), Genesta (1903), Torment (1903) and Thelma (1901). The barge in the right background has not been identified.
