'The D: of Richmonds House near Blackheath' [Vanbrugh Castle]
Technique includes etching. The print bears the title given below the image but shows what is beter known as Vanbrugh Castle, having been built by Sir John Vanbrugh for his own local residence when Surveyor to Greenwich Hospital, with other housef for members of his family to the east. These no longer stand but this does in the angle of Maze Hill and Westcombe Park Road, Greenwich. details of its occupation by the Duke of Richmond, presumably as a leased country residence remain to be checked.
