London from Greenwich Park, Kent
Print. A romantic and perspectivally distorted view over Greenwich towards London from One-Tree Hill in Greenwich Park. The spire's of St Alfege's Church, Greenwich, and St Nicholas, Deptford, are in the left. The Queen's House appears through the trees (before the addition of its colonnades) and buildings at the south end of Park Row can be seen below the domes of Greenwich Hospital (Old Royal Naval College). Arnald (1763-1841) the artist, was a landscape painter and A.R.A. who did some marine work later in his career. His most famous marine is his 'Battle of the Nile' (BHC0509).
