Meteor (1896)

A 12x10 negative. A starboard side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of Kaiser Wilhelm II's racing cutter Meteor (1896) under full sail during a race in the Thames Estuary. She has a jib, staysail, foresail, mainsail and topsail set. A steam launch is on the right. The Meteor (1896) won the race, finishing over 13 minutes ahead of the Britannia (1893). The race was sailed on the same occasion as the Thames Barge Match.
