Sir Thomas Allin
Print. Print. An early 19th-century re-engraving from Vanderbank's print (PAH5382), itself from either the oval format oil portrait by Kneller which is now NMM BHC2511 or another version of it: BHC2511 shows the sitter facing right rather than left, though such print reversals are commonplace. The head and shoulders oil itself relates to a full length version at Somerleyton Hall, Suffolk, which was Allin's final home. PAD4664 is another copy.
