Thames, River

A whole plate negative. A copy of an unsigned and undated painting depicting a 3 masted ship rigged vessel with painted ports taking a tow from a twin funnelled paddle tug named Resolute on the River Thames. The ship is seen from off her starboard side and she is flying the blue peter and what resembles the Money Wigram & Sons houseflag. Another twin funnelled paddle tug is on the left and in the centre foreground two people are in a cutter rigged boat with No. 2 on the mainsail. In the background there are two square riggers at anchor and a five storey building with a mansard roof standing between two tall chimneys. A flag with a union flag in the upper hoist is flying from the roof of the building. The contours of the land in the distance do not resemble the land formations in the vicinity of Tilbury or Gravesend.
