A 12x10 negative. A general view of the main entrance gateway to Tilbury Fort looking north. This gateway, known as the Watergate, is open and a soldier of the Royal Garrison Artillery is standing outside. The stonework has been refurbished. Tilbury Fort is spelt out in white painted stones on the verge on the east side of the gate. A vertical format image.
