The first class dining saloon on an unidentified passenger carrying steamship.
A whole plate negative. The interior of the first class dining saloon on an upper deck of an unidentified passenger carrying steamship. This saloon would appear to accommodate about seventy passengers. The photographer is looking along the centre line of the ship showing the long table with fixed swivelling seating. On either side of the centre table are smaller tables that seat six or eight people. The ceiling is supported on fluted columns placed on either side of the central table. Above the table is a well and skylight with ornate carvings and relief panels. Rectangular windows are on either side of the saloon. This is probably a passenger/cargo liner. A copy negative of a photographic print taken by an unknown photographer.
