The Thames Barge Match 1899
A half plate negative. A slightly distant starboard broadside view of three spritsail rigged topsail barges under sail in the Thames estuary during the 1899 Thames Barge Match. The barge on the left is the Loualf (1898) and the one on the right is the Gloria (1898). The barge in the centre is unidentified. A large racing cutter is in the right background near to an anchored barquentine.
