Earl St Vincent
An oval bust-length portrait of John Jervis, Earl of St Vincent (1752–1820), in admiral’s full-dress uniform, 1795–1812, with the ribbon and star of the Order of the Bath. The portrait is surrounded by a thick oval frame. Lettered beneath the image with the title, ‘Earl St Vincent’. This portrait is after an oil painting by Gilbert Stuart, which showed the sitter in pre-1795 uniform, as previously engraved by Robert Laurie (see PAG9496). In this print, the uniform has been updated to the 1795 pattern. (Updated June 2019.)
