Planisphere

Planisphere. The projection is geocentric and equidistant from the South Pole to North 26 degrees. Only the principle stars, connected by dotted lines, are included. The Magellanic Clouds are labelled 'NUB.', 'MAJ' and 'MIN'. 16 stars and two star groups are named. Most but not all of the Ptolemaic constellations above declination South 26 degrees (Argo is divided into 'CARINA', 'PUPPIS', 'VELA', and 'MALUS'). Two of the non-Ptolemaic constellations, 10 of the 12 southern constellations of Plancius (Apus and Voluns are missing) and MONOCEROS are drawn. In addition, one of Hevelius and five of Lacaille are drawn.
