Model astrolabe

This plastic model astrolabe has a plastic folding case and is accompanied by a booklet. The booklet has a photo of an astrolabe on the front and back over and contains descriptions, diagrams and explanations of the workings of an astrolabe, with a list of stars on the back page. Written on the front of the instrument is the following: 'The STAR GRASPER or ASTROLABE. Used by Astronomers and Astrologers for over 1,000 years will give the times of the rising and setting of the sun and stars throughout the year and their exact position in the sky at any time by day or by night.'
