Armillary sphere

Armillary sphere. Brass ornate tripod stand with removeable compass set in base, engraved with the names of the eight winds.The primary sphere consists of eight brass rings. In the centre there is a small brass terrestrial globe. On the terrestrial sphere, the prime meridian runs through the Azores. The equator is graduated and labelled 'Aequinoctialis' and 'LON'. Along the prime meridian, there is a latitude scale and it is labelled 'LATITUDO'. There are labels for the polar circles and the tropics 'Circulus Arcticus', 'Circulus Antarcticus', 'Tropic [sign Cancer]' and 'Tropic [sign Capricorn]'. The terrestrial globe shows the continents with their names.
