Lord Nelson. From a miniature by Jackson
George Adcock, the engraver of this print (apparently the only one by him in the NMM collection) was active from the 1820s but is very little recorded. He seems to have specialized in portraits. He was from a northern theatrical family, his father and mother (Charles Robert and Mary, nee Campbell) being actors, one sister (Harriet) a dancer and another, Rebecca, the second wife of the marine painter Clarkson Stanfield RA.
