Lettered beneath the image with the title, ‘Admiral Earl Howe. / From the Original by Gainsborough in the Trinity House, London.’ Also lettered with the production and publication details: ‘W. Greatbatch Sculp. / London. Richard Bentley. 1836.’ This portrait was engraved by William Greatbatch (or Greatbach) after Gainsborough Dupont’s full-length portrait of 1794 in the Trinity House, London.
