The Royal Terrace Pier, Gravesend

A 12x10 negative. This negative has been broken and discarded but a photographic print produced from the negative shows a general view looking east from Town Pier along the River Thames waterfront at Gravesend, with the Royal Terrace Pier in the middle distance. The lawn of the Royal Clarendon Hotel is at the right edge of the image. A number of merchant sailing and steamships are anchored or at moorings on the left. In the foreground is a small open boat with raised bulwarks and the name C E Pain No. 54 is painted on the transom. This photograph was taken on the same day as negative number G715.
