Account of Prizes by Midshipman Arthur Fisher.

Account of Prizes, 1710-1711, written and signed by Midshipman Arthur Fisher in the Royal Navy. The account gives details regarding how each prize was captured with specific dates for each ship (Navy ships include the ANGLESEY, KEEP and DOROTHY) and which ships were involved and includes precise details of each engagement. Also included are the weather conditions during each encounter. The main Navy ship the ANGLESEY, was a 4th rate of 48 guns, built 1694, Plymouth which is recorded as capturing L’ESPERANCE on 16 November 1711 which agrees with this account. Written in two pages and signed by Arthur Fisher. One of the actions took place off Point Negero, at Tenerife. The vessels taken were the L'ESPRANCE on 15 November 1710; INDUSTRY on 2 January 1710/11; and COAZAR, a privateer, on 24 January 1710/11. Technically the New Year in this period started on 25 March (Lady Day). Also the FRANCES was taken as a prize.
