Halifax City (1894)
A 12x10 negative. A port broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Halifax City (1894) at anchor or moored in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is lightly laden and a rowing boat is alongside her pilot ladder. A number of skiffs are in the foreground and Tilbury is in the background. The original glass plate negative has been broken and discarded but a photographic print produced from the negative before its damage is available for copying or scanning. This image is very similar to negative number G859.
