Gloria (1898)
A 12x10 negative. A starboard broadside view of the spritsail barge Gloria (1898) under sail in the Thames estuary during the Thames Barge Match. She is on the port tack and is flying her race number flag from her forestay. An unidentified barge is beyond her. The original glass plate negative was broken and discarded in 1961. A half plate glass copy negative number A9062 was made by the NMM studio from a photographic print produced from the original negative in the 1950s and this print is still available for scanning.
