Torridon (1885)

A whole plate negative. A starboard very near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the 3 masted ship rigged vessel Torridon (1885) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is in ballast and is brand new. She is rigged with double topsails, single topgallants royal and skysails and either her sails have been furled absolutely perfectly or she does not have any canvas on her yards. She has painted ports. Tilbury is in the background. Negative number G2260 was taken on the same occasion. Very slightly unsharp. The glass plate negative has been broken and discarded but a 12x10 photographic print made in the 1950s is available for scanning.
