Lombardy (1873)
A whole plate negative. A fair quality slightly distant port broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Lombardy (1873) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on her foremast, awnings are rigged aft and she has four tall canvas windsail ventilators forward of the bridge. The paddle tug Powerful (1857) is alongside. Tilbury is in the background. The original negative has been discarded but a 12x10 photographic print produced from this negative is available for scanning. Two 6x4 sheet film copy negatives have already been made from this print and they have been given the negative numbers P8528 and P8529.
