Jumna (1886)

A whole plate negative. A port side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Jumna (1886) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has yards on her foremast and awnings are rigged over the bridge area. A lighter laden with packing cases and crates is alongside forward. Tilbury is in the background. The original negative has peeled off and been discarded. A 12x10 photographic print produced from the original negative in the 1950s is available for scanning. Negatives numbers G2199 and G2209 were taken on the same occasion.
