The Norwegian ship 'Hansy' wrecked on Penolver Point, Lizard, Cornwall
Photographic print, Gibsons of Scilly Shipwreck Collection.
'Hansy' ran aground on the rocks after failing to tack in time. The ship was close enough for the Lizard Life-Saving apparatus to be used to rescue crew, including the captain’s wife with her 16 months-old child, a cat and a dog and some crew. The other crew were picked up by the lifeboat. The ship was destroyed.
