La Hogue (1855)
A quarter plate negative. A slightly distant starboard broadside view of the 3 masted ship rigged vessel La Hogue (1855) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is rigged with double topsails and single topgallants, has painted ports and is flying the blue peter. A stumpy rigged spritsail barge is alongside the port side amidships. The Coast Guard Watch Vessel CGWV 28 (1847) is on the shore in the left background and Tilbury Fort Watergate is in the right background. A Gould copy of a Gould photographic print from whole plate negative number G1777.
