Oroya (1886)
A quarter plate negative. A copy of an unsigned and undated painting depicting the passenger/cargo liner Oroya (1886) under way at sea in the period 1887 to 1889. She is shown from off her port broadside and has a staysail with square sails on the two yards on her foremast. She has short funnels. A mounted photograph of this painting has the date 23 March 1889 on it and this negative has 23/3/89 scratched into the emulsion. A Gould copy of a Gould mounted photographic print produced from 12x10 negative number G32.
