Rothesay (1957)
A quarter plate negative. On board the Royal Navy frigate Rothesay (1957) in the fitting out berth of Yarrow & Co Ltd at Scotstoun, Glasgow. The photographer is on the starboard side of the quarterdeck (No. 2 deck) looking forward and to port. In the foreground is the Unifoxer winch with a berthing wire winch behind it. Two inflatable liferafts are stowed under a canvas cover. The two Limbo Mark 10 mortars are in their well with a twin Mark V 40 mm gun abaft the short lattice mainmast. Noticeboards on the quayside mark the boundary between the Yarrow & Co Ltd shipyard and Barclay, Curle's dockyard.
