Rothesay (1957)
A quarter plate negative. The Royal Navy frigate Rothesay (1957) in the fitting out berth of Yarrow & Co Ltd at Scotstoun, Glasgow. The photographer is in an elevated position on the quayside to port and abreast the 4.5 inch gun turret looking forward, to starboard and down on the forecastle. The steam capstan is covered and three cable reels between the breakwaters are also covered. The port side forward reel is for a 3 inch mooring pendant, the starboard side forward reel is for a 3 inch berthing wire and the large reel on the port side is for a 4 inch F.S.W.R. hawser.
