Yarmouth (1959) as fitted after refit

A 2¾ x 2¼ film negative. On board the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) alongside the South-West Wall in Portsmouth Dockyard. This is said to be inside the senior rates recreation space on the port side of 2 deck between 16 and 18½ stations looking to port and slightly aft from the doorway. A cupboard is standing in the corner above settee benches and a bookshelf is on the bulkhead above it. Newspapers, clothing and a piece of wood are on the settee benches. Rectangular tin trays advertizing Courage beers and Johnnie Walker whiskey are on the hull side. A hand written list with the negative originally identified this as 'Senior ratings WCs from door to port' but then amended the description to 'Senior ratings recreation space.' Admiralty Service Drawing Number 955655/2 of 2 certified 18/10/68 shows this space as being the senior rates WCs and the kit locker space.
