Yarmouth (1959) as fitted after refit

A 2¾ x 2¼ film negative. On board the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) alongside the South-West Wall in Portsmouth Dockyard. Inside the senior rates' mess on the starboard side of 2 deck between stations 61½ and 67. The photographer is on the port side of the mess looking aft showing the settee benches, two tubular steel easy chairs and three drop-leaf coffee tables. Two bookracks are on the inboard bulkhead. A Thermotank ventilation unit is on the aft bulkhead and two loudspeakers are mounted at high level in the corner. Two heraldic plaques and a terrarium help to decorate the mess. This compartment is designated as the C.P.O.s' mess on the Admiralty service drawing number 955655/2 of 2, certified 18/10/68.
