Yarmouth (1959) as fitted after refit
A 2¾ x 2¼ film negative. On board the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) alongside the South-West Wall in Portsmouth Dockyard. The photographer is looking forward and to port from the starboard side of 02 deck (on the roof of the shipwright's shop) showing the emergency conning position abaft the funnel. On the left is a whip aerial and there are two notices on its base. One reads 'Do not loiter for more than 2 minutes' and the other reads 'The base insulator must not be painted'. The end of the main smithery building is on the left. Number 3 smithery is in the background with the cranes serving building slip number 5 beyond it.
