Yarmouth (1959) as fitted after refit

A 2¾ x 2¼ film negative. On board the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) alongside the South-West Wall in Portsmouth Dockyard. The photographer is looking forward from the port side of 02 deck on top of the hangar. On the right is the platform for the G.W.S. 20 Seacat missile optical director with the IFF interrogation antenna above it on a platform on a plated mainmast. On an angled to port platform on the foremast is the cheese aerial for the Type 978 navigational radar and above it is the aerial for the Type 993 search radar. At the top of the foremast is the Mark 5 HF/DF aerial. In the left foreground is a whip aerial and a notice on its base support reads 'Do not loiter for more than 2 minutes'. The United States Navy destroyer Manley (1956) is berthed alongside North Corner Jetty ahead of the Yarmouth. This negative is almost identical to N66101.
