A 3¼x4¼ glass plate negative. The Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) under construction in the East Yard of John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. The photographer is looking down, forward and to starboard from a crane on the port side of the berth showing prefabricated sections of the keel and lower hull on the building blocks on the berth. The sections 42 to 68 are in place and supported on timber struts. Section 60 to 68 is decked and the watertight bulkhead at station 49 has been erected. On the adjoining berth in the background is the tanker Lincoln (1958), yard number 707, under construction.
