Yarmouth (1959) under construction.

A 4x5¼ glass plate negative. The Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) under construction in the East Yard of John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. The photographer is looking down, to starboard and forward from a crane to port of the berth. Prefabricated sections of the keel and lower hull between stations 36 and 75 are in place on the building blocks on the berth and supported on timber struts. The section 36 to 41 has been decked and partly plated, the watertight bulkhead at station 49 is in place, the hull plating to stations 42 to 53 has not yet been extended upwards and the section from station 60 to 75 has been decked. Four sections of prefabricated plating are laying on the deck between stations 60 and 75. On the adjoining berth in the background is the tanker Lincoln (1958), yard number 707, under construction.
