A 3¼x4¼ glass plate negative. The Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) under construction in the East Yard of John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. The photographer is on a crane to port of the berth looking down, forward and to starboard showing prefabricated sections of the keel and lower hull on the building blocks on the berth. The sections 36 to 75 are in place and supported on timber struts. The section 36 to 41 has been partly plated and the bulkheads at stations 49, 62½ and 75 are in place. The side plating at stations 42 to 45 has been extended upwards to number 1 deck level. The aft section between stations 60 and 75 has been decked at number 3 deck level. On the adjoining berth in the background is the tanker Lincoln (1958), yard number 707, under construction.
