A 3½x4¾ glass plate negative. The Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) under construction in the East Yard of John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. The photographer is on a crane to port of the head of the berth looking down, aft and to starboard showing prefabricated sections of the keel and lower hull on the building blocks on the berth. The sections 23 to 75 are in place and supported on timber struts. The section 36 to 41 still has a strake of plating missing. The side plating from stations 41 to 72 have been fitted to number 1 deck level. On the adjoining berth in the background is the tanker Lincoln (1958), yard number 707, under construction.
