Yarmouth (1959) under construction.
A 4¾x3½ glass plate negative. The Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) under construction in the East Yard of John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. The photographer is on a crane to port of the end of the berth looking down, forward and to starboard showing the ship taking shape on the building blocks. The hull from station 5 to the stern is almost complete except that the side plating from stations 5 to 31 is only up to number 4 deck level. Scaffolding has been erected outside the hull. The stern is just out of the picture. On the adjoining berth in the background is the tanker Lincoln (1958), yard number 707, under construction. A vertical format image.
